Primary Resource Provision – Bradford

Engage Education are currently working with a Primary school in Bradford looking for an experienced and dedicated Primary Resource Provision Teaching Assistant/Support.

This school is a large mainstream primary which caters for pupils aged 5 to 11 years old. This role is to support pupils who learn in their resource provision centre. Pupils who attend have either Autism or Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties (SLCD). The school offers a variety of enriching educational opportunities for pupils including academic, functional and vocational skills.

The role requires an holistic approach, as academic development is only possible when you address the primary social and emotional needs first.

This opportunity will candidates who have a passion and natural ability to engage hard to reach pupils and those with strong classroom presence. You will engage the children and young people within the school in innovative, therapeutic, and meaningful activities, supporting them in learning to help them reach their full potential.

This role is a full-time position (Monday to Friday) to start in September. Whilst it is initially a temporary role, there is potential for the role to become permanent in due course.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Manage challenging behaviour positively and in line with the schools' ethos and procedures.
  • Ensure learning and lessons are well sequenced and meet the needs of children.
  • Provide a positive and nurturing environment for children with a range of needs.
  • Motivate, engage and inspire children
  • A dedication to the safeguarding of young people.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a specialist setting or school setting.
  • Specific experience working with children with SEMH and ASD needs desirable.
  • A resilient attitude and range of behaviour management techniques.
  • A dedication to enhancing young people's learning, regardless of disadvantage.
  • A commitment to working at the school for a consistent period of time.
