Commercial Mechanic - Location: Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire

Our client a family-run business in the heart of Herefordshire, manage a diverse range of farming activities. They are seeking a skilled Mechanic to maintain and repair our extensive fleet of farm vehicles and machinery. This role offers a dynamic work environment where no two days are the same.
Day-to-day of the role: - Inspect, diagnose faults, and repair a variety of farm machinery and equipment, including tractors, combines, harvesters, and more.
- Attend to machinery breakdowns promptly and efficiently.
- Schedule and carry out servicing and routine maintenance, including MOT preparation, for all machinery and vehicles.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
- Manage work priorities effectively to ensure optimal productivity.
- Procure spare parts and components from cost-effective sources.
- Assist with farm duties during peak times of the year.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications: - Proven experience in a mechanical role, with a broad knowledge of vehicle and machinery repair.
- Experience with heavy plant or agricultural machinery is preferred but not essential.
- Strong ability to diagnose faults and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Proactive and can-do attitude, with the ability to manage one's own workload.
- Effective team player with good communication skills.
- Welding experience is advantageous.
- Full driving licence is required.
- Experience driving farm machinery and forklifts would be beneficial.
- Relevant qualifications and certificates related to the role are desirable.
