We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic and supportive school in Southampton. This role involves working closely with students who may display challenging behaviour and require emotional and behavioural support to engage with their learning.

About the Role:

Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs

Implement behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation techniques

Support students both in and out of the classroom setting

Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies

Help build a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for learning

About You:

Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, trauma, or behavioural needs

Calm, empathetic, and resilient under pressure

Strong communication and de-escalation skills

A team player with a passion for inclusive education

Relevant qualifications (e.g. Team Teach, MAPA, or a background in youth work, mental health, or SEN) are highly desirable

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
