Optimise are proud to represent a leading projects business who is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to support growth and market expansion. The role involves leveraging heavy engineering technical knowledge and sales skills to engage clients, drive sales, and help achieve organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, identifying needs and providing tailored solutions.

Negotiate contracts and close sales to meet or exceed performance targets.

Prepare and deliver technical presentations, proposals, and product demonstrations.

Analyze competitors and contribute to developing the company's market differentiators

Client Relationship Management

Proactively communicate with clients to address inquiries and ensure satisfaction.

Resolve client concerns or complaints in a timely and effective manner

Technical Expertise

Perform site assessments and technical evaluations to understand client requirements and recommend solutions.

Provide ongoing technical support and explain product specifications to clients.

Documentation & Reporting

Utilize internal systems to track sales activities, quotes, orders, and costs.

Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, project progress, and sales performance.

Generate regular reports on sales activity, forecasts, and market insights.

Required Skills & Experience

Qualifications

Engineering degree or equivalent technical background.

GCSEs or equivalent in Mathematics and English.

Valid driving license.

Technical Skills & Knowledge

Strong technical understanding of heavy engineering products and solutions.

Proficiency in interpreting technical engineering drawings (both metric and imperial).

Ability to simplify complex technical information for a variety of audiences.

Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities.

Practical, hands-on approach to work.

Desirable Experience

Previous experience in technical sales, within heavy engineering,machinery or projects

Experience collaborating with suppliers and preparing quotations.

Familiarity with industry standards or frameworks.

Willingness to travel for work-related activities and events.
