Finance Business Partner – Up to £70,000
I’m recruiting on behalf of a high-growth consumer organisation seeking a commercially minded Finance Business Partner. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant to step into a broad, influential role supporting a variety of teams. The position is best suited to someone with strong financial modelling capability and experience within a trading-led, fast-paced environment.
The finance function plays a central role in providing insight, maintaining financial control, and driving profitable, sustainable growth across all channels.
The Role – Responsibilities
P&L Ownership Across Channels
- Own and manage full P&Ls across DTC, E-commerce, Wholesale, and Clearance.
- Produce weekly and monthly reporting packs with clear variance analysis and insight.
Financial Modelling & Reforecasting
- Build robust financial models to support commercial decision-making.
- Lead rolling cashflow reforecasting aligned to trading and stock movements.
Stock, Inventory & Working Capital
- Validate inventory reporting in partnership with Supply Chain and Merchandising.
- Support stock audits, reconciliation, and stock ageing analysis.
- Assess cash impacts of allocation strategies and clearance activity.
Cost Control & Opex Management
- Monitor Opex spend against budget across Commercial and Operations functions.
- Conduct cost verification reviews and provide clear cost control reporting.
Wholesale Performance & Debtor Exposure
- Analyse wholesale customer profitability.
- Monitor debtor exposure and assess credit risk.
Governance & Internal Audit Support
- Support internal audit processes and ensure adherence to financial policies and controls.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen governance and improve financial processes.
Cross-Functional Business Partnering
- Work closely with E-commerce, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams.
- Communicate financial insight clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
Key Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA).
- Strong financial modelling skills and confidence owning full P&Ls.
- Experience with cashflow forecasting and working capital.
- Background in retail, consumer goods, DTC, E-commerce, or wholesale.
- Excellent Excel and financial systems knowledge.
- Comfortable communicating financial information to senior non-finance teams.
- Desirable: ERP/BI experience (e.g., Power BI), inventory accounting exposure, internal controls or audit involvement.
