About the Role
Our client, a respected and progressive law firm based in the heart of Leicester City Centre, is seeking an experienced and detail-driven COLP (Compliance Officer for Legal Practice) and COFA (Compliance Officer for Finance and Administration) to join their senior team. This is a key appointment, offering the opportunity to shape and lead compliance practices within a supportive, professional environment.

The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Partners, the successful candidate will be responsible for safeguarding the firm's compliance with the SRA's regulatory framework, managing both legal practice and financial administration obligations. This is an influential role where your expertise will directly contribute to the firm's continued reputation for integrity and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

* Acting as the firm's designated COLP and COFA, ensuring full compliance with SRA regulations and other legal and financial requirements.

* Monitoring and ensuring adherence to the Solicitors Accounts Rules, including conducting audits and regular financial checks.

* Overseeing compliance with the SRA Handbook and Code of Conduct.

* Designing, implementing, and updating robust compliance policies and risk management frameworks.

* Carrying out internal compliance reviews and risk assessments.

* Providing training and clear guidance to staff on regulatory responsibilities.

* Handling any compliance breaches, including investigations and reporting to the SRA.

* Keeping accurate and comprehensive compliance records.

About You:

* Previous compliance experience within a legal or professional services environment.

* Thorough understanding of the SRA Handbook, Solicitors Accounts Rules, and wider regulatory frameworks.

* Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.

* Confident communicator who can engage effectively with all levels of the business.

* Ability to work proactively and independently while maintaining the highest levels of discretion and integrity.

* Professional compliance or legal qualifications are desirable but not essential.
