Children’s Residential Support Worker

Location: Wolverhampton

Service Type: 3-Bed Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) Home

Pay Rate: £12.80 per hour

Shift Pattern: 2 days on, 4 days off (including sleep-in shifts)

About the Role:

Our client operates a 3-bed EBD home in Wolverhampton, dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for children in need. They are committed to promoting the well-being and development of each child in their care, helping them thrive and reach their full potential.

They are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Children’s Residential Support Worker to join their team. In this role, you will provide round-the-clock care and support to children with emotional and behavioural difficulties, ensuring their safety, well-being, and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a nurturing and supportive environment for children in residential care.
  • Implement individualised care plans and support strategies.
  • Promote positive behaviour management and use de-escalation techniques when needed.
  • Engage children in a range of activities to promote social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Support children with daily living tasks, including meal times, personal hygiene, and homework.
  • Maintain accurate records of care and progress.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, external agencies, and families to ensure the best outcomes for children.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – Essential
  • Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally in a residential setting.
  • Compassionate, patient, and resilient when supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work a rota pattern of 2 days on, 4 days off, including sleep-ins.
  • Full UK Driving Licence – Essential
