A well-established organisation, known for its impactful work in the start-up space, is seeking a Small Business Loan Advisor to join their dynamic team. This is a full-time, permanent role offering a hybrid working model based in Reading, Berkshire.

As a delivery partner for the British Business Bank’s Start-Up Loans scheme, they provide tailored support to service leavers, veterans, and their families, helping them transition into self-employment.

The RoleAs a Small Business Loan Advisor, you’ll guide applicants through the loan process, assess business plans and financial forecasts, and make funding recommendations. You’ll play a key role in helping individuals turn their ideas into viable businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support applicants through the loan application journey
• Review and advise on business plans and cashflow forecasts
• Assess affordability and viability of start-up proposals
• Make funding recommendations in line with credit policy
• Maintain accurate CRM records and provide weekly progress reports
• Participate in workshops and bootcamps
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Confident in providing advice and guidance
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
• Experience in business lending, banking, or start-up advisory (desirable)
• Familiarity with Zoho CRM (a plus)
• Passionate about supporting the military and emergency services communities
