Job Title: Graduate Town Planner

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading development company in their search for a Graduate Town Planner to join their team in Leicester.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Graduate Town Planner to begin their career within a developer environment, gaining exposure to residential-led schemes and the full lifecycle of planning projects. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced professionals and gain valuable insight into both planning strategy and delivery.

THE ROLE

As a Graduate Town Planner, you will support the planning team in delivering projects from land promotion through to planning approval.

You will gain hands-on experience across site appraisals, planning submissions, and stakeholder engagement, developing your career as a Graduate Town Planner within a commercially focused environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Assisting with site appraisals and development feasibility assessments
* Supporting the preparation and submission of planning applications
* Preparing planning statements and supporting documentation
* Conducting planning policy research and analysis
* Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and external consultants
* Supporting land promotion and strategic planning activities
* Attending meetings, site visits, and consultations
* Assisting with project coordination and administration

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

* RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline
* Strong academic background
* Ideally some experience within planning (placement, internship, or similar)
* Keen interest in residential development and land promotion
* Working towards MRTPI or motivated to begin the process
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* A proactive and commercially aware mindset
