Transport Planner (Freight Forwarding)

Location: EMG Site - Unit 4 Wilders Way, Derby, DE74 2BB (office-based, 5 days per week)
Working Hours: 9:00am - 5:30pm (1-hour lunch)
Salary: £28,000 - £34,500 (depending on experience)

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Transport Planner to join a busy freight forwarding operation. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where you will play a key part in planning and coordinating European transport movements.

You will be responsible for building trailers, organising shipments, and liaising with overseas depots to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods.

Key Responsibilities

* Build and plan trailer loads efficiently

* Coordinate and manage shipments across European routes

* Liaise with overseas depots and partners

* Handle both import and export operations

* Ensure smooth day-to-day transport planning within a busy environment

* Respond quickly to operational challenges and provide effective solutions

Skills & Experience Required

* Proven experience in transport planning within freight forwarding

* Strong knowledge of European transport (not just domestic)

* Experience handling imports and exports

* Operationally savvy with a hands-on approach

* Ability to work under pressure and hit the ground running
