Are you an experienced and dedicated social worker with a passion for safeguarding childrens? Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is seeking a Principal Social Worker to join our Childrens Safeguarding Team, playing a vital role in leading and shaping effective safeguarding practices across the authority.

About the Role:

As Principal Social Worker, you will:

• Provide professional leadership to social workers within the Childrens Safeguarding Team.
• Support the development and implementation of safeguarding policies and best practices.
• Undertake complex safeguarding enquiries and risk assessments.
• Work closely with multi-agency partners to ensure timely and effective responses to safeguarding concerns.
• Provide expert guidance, supervision, and support to social care staff.
• Contribute to service development and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• Experience as a Social Worker in a Council withing the UK
• Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)
• Registration with Social Care Wales
• Substantial post-qualifying experience in adult social care and safeguarding
• Proven experience in a senior/principal practitioner role
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 and adult safeguarding procedures
