Private Client Tax Manager - Professional Services Firm (Confidential)Location: Kent | Full-time | Flexible Working

A well-established national advisory firm is looking for a Private Client Tax Manager to join their Kent office. This role offers an excellent opportunity to manage and develop a portfolio of private client and professional practice work while being part of a collaborative and supportive tax team.

Role Overview You will lead the delivery of private client tax services for a diverse client base, including directors of owner-managed businesses, family-owned enterprises, high net worth individuals, and trusts. The role combines compliance, advisory, and project-based work, with opportunities to contribute to business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage private client relationships and act as a trusted advisor
  • Lead tax compliance work including personal tax returns, calculations, and HMRC correspondence
  • Oversee and review work prepared by junior staff, ensuring high-quality output
  • Provide advisory and planning support on tax matters and trust arrangements
  • Collaborate with colleagues across tax, audit, and business solutions teams
  • Identify business development opportunities and support growth initiatives
  • Take responsibility for financial performance, billing, and risk management on your portfolio

Candidate Profile

  • ACA / CTA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in private client and professional practice tax, including compliance and advisory work
  • Strong technical knowledge of personal and trust taxation
  • Excellent client service skills and ability to communicate complex matters clearly
  • Leadership capability with experience coaching or mentoring junior team members
  • Proactive, organised, and able to manage a varied workload
