Courier Controller (Operations)

Location: West London

Salary: £29,000 – £32,000 (dependent on experience)

Hours: Monday to Friday (either 06:00 – 16:00 or 10:00 – 19:00)

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an experienced Courier Controller to join a fast-paced and well-established transport operation. This is a key position within the business, responsible for overseeing daily courier activity and ensuring a consistently high level of service delivery.

This role requires a proactive and commercially aware individual who can confidently manage live operations and make effective decisions in real time.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate a fleet of approximately 20–30 company vehicles
• Plan and allocate jobs to ensure maximum efficiency and service performance
• Monitor live operations, adjusting schedules and resources as required
• Ensure all deliveries and collections are completed in line with client expectations
• Act as the main point of contact for drivers, providing ongoing support and direction
• Communicate with customers, handling updates, queries, and issue resolution
• Optimise routes and resource allocation across London and the surrounding areas
• Maintain accurate operational records and system updates

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in a courier controller, transport planner, or similar operations role
• Strong knowledge of London and the Home Counties
• Ability to think on your feet and make sound decisions under pressure
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills when dealing with both drivers and clients
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, time-critical environment
