Merrifield Consultants are supporting a national charity to recruit an experienced iTrent Development Specialist. This role is ideal for someone with strong iTrent configuration experience who can improve how the system supports colleagues across the charity.

About the role
You will take ownership of developing, configuring and improving iTrent modules across recruitment, onboarding, absence and other core HR processes. The role includes testing changes, resolving system issues, managing upgrades, maintaining accurate data and ensuring that access and permissions are set correctly. You will also produce clear guidance and support colleagues so the system is easy to use and reliable.

iTrent Development Specialist
Contract: Fixed Term until March 2027
Salary: £55,000 (London) or £52,500 (Northern England office) - pro rata for 17.5 hours per week
Hours: Part time, 17.5 hours per week
Working pattern: Hybrid (London or the charity's Northern England office). Remote working is available, with occasional travel between both sites.
Start date: January/February 2026

Key responsibilities

Configure and improve iTrent modules
Build and refine workflows, access rules and security settings
Carry out structured testing before changes go live
Troubleshoot issues and liaise with MHR when required
Manage upgrades and regular system administration
Produce user guides, process notes and documentation
Support colleagues to use iTrent confidently and adopt new processes
Maintain strong data quality, GDPR compliance and audit readinessWhat we are looking for

Strong hands-on experience configuring and developing iTrent
Good understanding of workflows, access, security and data governance
Knowledge of GDPR, data quality and audit requirements
Understanding of HR processes and how they translate into system design
Experience working in a charity, health or public-sector environment, or similar context
