Finance Officer
• Location: Leatherhead
• Hourly rate: £13.00-£14.00 per hour PAYE and £16.00- £17.00 via an umbrella company
• Job Type: Temporary (6-months initially)
• Hours: 30-37.5 hours per week
• Working pattern: Office based for the first 2-3 weeks training, then hybrid 3 days in the office and 2 from home.
We are currently seeking a dedicated Finance Officer for a 6-month temporary position to cover a period of sickness. Based in Leatherhead, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of financial tasks including treasury functions, cash posting, and handling bank-related activities.Day-to-day of the role:
• Oversee treasury operations, ensuring efficient management of the company’s liquidity and financial position.
• Responsible for cash posting and accurate recording of all cash transactions.
• Handle bank accounts, including downloading statements and reconciling them with company records.
• Process expenses, ensuring they are recorded and reimbursed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Manage cashbook processing and maintain up-to-date records of all transactions.
• Oversee petty cash, ensuring the availability of funds and proper documentation of disbursements.
• Process credit card payments and reconcile statements to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain the purchase ledger, ensuring all invoices are processed and paid in accordance with company policies.Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Proven experience in a finance officer role or similar.
• Strong understanding of treasury, cash management, and bank reconciliation processes.
• Proficient in cashbook processing and managing petty cash.
• Experience with purchase ledger processing.
• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in financial software and MS Office, particularly Excel, including pivots and lookups.
