We’re recruiting an Audit Senior – Financial Services in Glasgow on behalf of a well-established and growing accountancy practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified audit professional to manage day-to-day audit engagements, develop junior staff, and build strong client relationships within a specialist financial services team.

The Role

As Audit Senior, you will take responsibility for managing the audit workflow for a portfolio of financial services clients. You will ensure that audit files are completed to a high standard, deadlines and budgets are met, and junior staff are supported and trained effectively.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Completing or overseeing audit planning documentation
  • Arranging and coordinating audit work with the Audit Manager
  • Planning, scheduling, and delegating work to Audit Assistants, ensuring complex work is prioritised and client-provided information is followed up
  • Briefing, training, and debriefing Audit Assistants, providing formal feedback as required
  • Liaising with client staff, building effective professional relationships
  • Monitoring budgeted versus actual time spent, reporting scope issues, fieldwork issues, and overruns to the Audit Manager
  • Keeping clients informed of progress and key issues while maintaining confidentiality

You will be a key point of contact for your clients and play an active role in maintaining high-quality service delivery across your audit portfolio.

About You

You will be a qualified CA (or equivalent); part-qualified candidates may be considered where relevant experience exists.

You will demonstrate:

  • Strong ability to develop and maintain client relationships
  • Excellent organisational skills and a proactive approach to your work
  • Relevant experience within audit, ideally in financial services or a similar sector
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to positively influence colleagues and clients
  • A leadership mindset, taking ownership of your work and supporting your professional development
