Vetro Education are seeking to recruit an experienced and dedicated English Teacher to work in a secondary school in the Swansea Local Education Authority. The ideal Teacher will have a strong understanding of both English Language and English literature, with a proven track record in the delivery of both elements. The school supports learners in Key Stage 3 and 4 and the school has tasked Vetro to find an English Teacher, who can hit the ground running and become a part of the English department from day one.

The role itself is for 5 days per week, teaching Year 7, 8 and 9, as well as GCSE classes. This role is set to start in the Summer term 2024, and set to run until the end of term in the first instance. The opportunity to return in September 2024 is there for the right candidate.

  • Pay: £165.00 per day minimum
  • Location: Swansea
  • Hours: Full time, Long Term - Monday to Friday 830am - 330pm

The role: What you'll be doing as a English Teacher

  • Lead a classroom of learners - Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Preparing the classroom for lessons and plan schemes of work where required
  • Deliver lessons in line with national curriculum
  • Engage learners with both classroom and lab-based activities
  • Work in accordance to the school's behaviour management policies



The candidate: What you'll need to be successful as a English Teacher

  • At least 1 year English teaching experience (exceptions made for NQTs)
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status or overseas equivalent
  • Registration as a Teacher with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this
  • References covering the last two years (no gaps)
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK
