Mechanical Fitter - Waste Management

MC Technical Recruitment is currently seeking to recruit a Mechanical Fitter to join one of the UK's leading waste management and recycling companies at a Transfer Station near London Bridge.

As the Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for:

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs)
Completing repairs, modifications, and fabrications on site equipment
Replacing or adjusting component parts to avoid downtime and ensure efficiency
Performing mechanical tests in line with regulations
Responding to breakdowns and providing technical support as needed
Assisting with risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work
Working Monday-Friday with overtime opportunities available
Other duties as required
To be considered for this opportunity, you should have:

A recognised mechanical qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ, HNC/HND)
Background in mobile plant, compactors, or similar industrial equipment
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Good IT skills (Microsoft Office)
Willingness to work additional hours or attend training, including weekends if required
