Elevation Recruitment Group is working with a leading materials/industrial business seeking a Senior Metallurgist to support and enhance their metallurgical processes. This is a hands-on technical role with exposure to a wide range of materials and process improvement initiatives. The role does not include direct reports – the focus is on technical expertise, problem solving, and supporting operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Optimise and improve metallurgical processes to enhance product quality, efficiency, and yield.
• Support cross-functional teams including production, QA, and laboratory staff with technical guidance and investigations.
• Analyse metallurgical data to support decision making and identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Assist in the qualification of raw materials, changes to processes, and technical evaluations.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Produce clear technical documentation and reports for internal stakeholders and customers.
• Collaborate on new product development and improvement initiatives, providing metallurgical expertise.

Required Experience & Skills

• Degree or equivalent in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related discipline.
• Proven experience as a metallurgist or materials scientist in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting metallurgical and process data.
• Familiarity with quality methodologies such as RCA, 8D, 5 Why, or FMEA.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and provide technical guidance.
• Hands-on approach with a focus on solving practical metallurgical and materials challenges.
