Role Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of major structures schemes within a structures maintenance portfolio. The successful candidate will manage projects from inception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with client and stakeholder expectations.
You will be responsible for driving programme performance (SPI 8), managing internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the planning and end-to-end delivery of major structures projects.

Manage project teams, resources, and sub-contractors to achieve programme milestones.

Develop and implement business strategies aligned with client needs and performance targets.

Monitor project budgets, control costs, and ensure financial targets for profit and margin are met.

Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective stakeholder engagement.

Ensure a "right first-time" approach in planning, execution, and delivery.

Oversee compliance with all relevant health & safety, environmental, and industry regulations.

Coordinate with internal departments to ensure project integration and risk mitigation.

Support the tendering and contract negotiation process, where applicable.

Working Pattern & Location:

Hybrid working available - typically 3-4 days based at Ringmer Depot, with 1-2 days working from home.

Office-based role with regular travel to site required as part of project delivery.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

Extensive experience in highways structures management and delivery.

Proven success in stakeholder engagement and client relationship management.

Strong background in managing high-value infrastructure or civil engineering projects.

Experience in financial control, procurement, and risk management.

Demonstrated ability to manage complex programmes and multidisciplinary teams.

SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification - essential.

NEC4 accreditation - highly desirable.

Chartered Civil Engineer (CEng) - desirable.

Skills & Attributes:

A confident leader with strong people management and team-building abilities.

Skilled negotiator with experience managing key suppliers and contracts.

Excellent communication, presentation, and report-writing skills.

Proactive, self-motivated, and highly organised.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Full UK driving licence is essential.
