• Pay Rate: £46.00 per hour

• Location: Carlisle

• Contract Length: 6-12 months (Long-term stability)

• Primary Focus: Child Protection (CP) & Cared For Children

• Chairing statutory reviews for children looked after and monitoring the performance of the local authority's function as a corporate parent.

• Ensuring that Care Plans are comprehensive, effective, and prioritize the safety and well-being of the child.

• Providing independent oversight and challenge to ensure Child Protection plans are progressed without delay.

• Liaising with social workers, managers, and external partners to drive high standards of practice.

• Qualified Social Worker (Social Work England registered).

• Significant post-qualifying experience in Child Protection or Looked After Children services.

• Previous experience as an IRO or in a senior management/oversight capacity is highly desirable.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to provide constructive challenge.
