Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Salary: £95 - £120 per day (PAYE, dependent on experience)

Tradewind Recruitment are looking for a committed and energetic SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in Barnet, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and ADHD.

This forward-thinking school offers a nurturing, structured and highly supportive environment where pupils receive tailored interventions to help them succeed both emotionally and academically. Staff work collaboratively to build trust, boost confidence and help pupils manage their behaviour in a positive and consistent way.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH and ADHD

Implement strategies to help pupils regulate emotions, stay focused and engage in learning

Use positive behaviour management techniques to de-escalate and redirect pupils

Work closely with teachers, the SENDCo and pastoral team to follow personalised plans

Encourage independence, social skills and resilience through supportive relationships

What We're Looking For:

Experience supporting children with SEMH, ADHD or behavioural needs

A calm, patient and proactive approach

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Team Teach or similar training is beneficial (or willingness to train)

Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply
