Ashton Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established and highly reputable construction and maintenance contractor based in Warrenpoint.


Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Pay Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience

Hours of work: 40 hours per week

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take the lead on commercial management, cost planning and financial control across a range of capital works projects. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality outcomes, ensure strong commercial performance while managing risk, site abnormalities and stakeholder expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all commercial aspects of contracts from tender stage through to final account
  • Prepare, monitor and control project budgets, forecasts and cashflows
  • Lead the preparation and submission of valuations, variations and claims
  • Administer contracts and ensure full compliance with contract terms and requirements
  • Provide accurate and timely commercial reporting to senior management and clients
  • Negotiate with clients, subcontractors and suppliers to secure favourable commercial terms
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, payments and performance evaluations
  • Support compliance with relevant housing regulations, health & safety standards and sustainability requirements
  • Work collaboratively with operational, design and client teams to ensure successful project delivery

Essential Experience

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field (RICS accreditation preferred)
  • Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within maintenance, refurbishment or new build environments
  • Experience working on education sector projects is highly desirable
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC forms of contract
  • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  • High level of commercial and financial awareness
  • Strong IT skills including cost management software and MS Office
  • Ability to lead teams and mentor junior staff
  • Valid CSR Card or formal Health & Safety training
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within the construction industry
