Description

The Logistics Network Design Manager will report into the Head of Network Design, functioning as a subject matter expert responsible for designing/ Modelling Operational Network to meet all future capacity, cost and service requirements.

The role will be responsible for full ownership of designs and modelling of the logistics network including idea generation and early concept evaluation and prioritisation through to stakeholder engagement, business case approval and detailed design and planning for deployment.

As the Logistics Network Design Manager you will have accountability for:

Managing a multi-million-pound design project portfolio and roadmap to transform the operational network to meet future business and service objectives
To work with and effectively communicate with internal stakeholders within the business to define and deliver the Target Operating Model.
Modelling of the logistics network using tools such as Llamasoft Supply chain Guru, Cosmic Frog
Quantitative and qualitative comparison of options using appropriate financial and operational analytical techniques to support informed decision making.
Liaising between operations and commercial colleagues to ensure a balanced view on quality, service and capabilities as well as cost.
Calculating budget levels based on historical data, analysis and expert assessment.
Provide new and innovative solutions that are aligned delivering both the strategic direction and future Operating Model.
To be a senior subject matter expert who based on understanding processes, capacity, cost, productivity and network modelling can assist making data-driven and informed decisions.
To be able to find solutions to complex problems and produce comprehensive business cases to justify capital expenditure.Profile

The Logistics network design manager will be a highly influential in the future development of the network. Preferred experience includes:-

Influencing strategic direction at board level
Demonstrable examples of leading a strategic vision and managing senior people against it
Management and understanding of of operational cost, commercial profitability and P&L
Excellent analytical skills, including top-down estimation and detailed bottom-up analysis, with expertise in interpreting management information, data manipulation, modelling and costing
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, as well as Powerbi, Python or similar would be preferable
Expert in Logistics modelling tools Supply chain Guru, Llamasoft, CAST, Cosmic Frog and similar tools
Able to work under own initiative, self-motivated, including the need for occasional national travel
There will be a requirement to attend in person meetings in London twice per week
A technical or analytic degree may be advantageous although not essentialJob Offer
