The role: Learning support assistant

Learning support assistants will support students with Autism on a 1:1 basis you will adapt teaching support according to student's needs. look after children's physical, social and emotional welfare. You will need to be patient, positive, and perseverant. Children with SEN may take longer to understand something or complete a task, so it's crucial to be patient and offer guidance to help them succeed. For this role you must have Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, previous experience working in a schools within the UK and supported students with SEN. Must be trained in PECS, Makaton and team teach.

The school: Learning support assistant

This school is based in Barnet, it's a single entry form school with around 157 students and created extra activities for students such as gymnastics, foreign languages and drama club. They support parents with breakfast and after school services to cater to all students and parent's needs. In March 2022 had received a good Ofsted report which suggested the growth and support teachers and SEN support assistant provide to students to give friendly and safe atmosphere. Good understanding and knowledge of the national curriculum and extra support were given to those who needed.
