Senior Tooling Design Engineer

Location: UK (SC Clearance required or eligible)

We're working with a highly respected engineering and manufacturing organisation that is investing heavily in new product development and advanced technology. They are looking for a Senior Tooling Design Engineer to own design activities and deliver robust engineering solutions that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

You will:

Design tooling, jigs, fixtures, and mechanical components to customer requirements
Produce outline and detailed design concepts
Identify and resolve engineering challenges with effective technical solutions
Evaluate product performance, reliability, and safety
Modify and refine designs to meet project and customer requirements
Estimate project scope, budgets, and timelines
Manage engineering risk and opportunity throughout the project lifecycle
Prepare technical reports, calculations, and design documentation
Support continuous improvement and development of new engineering methods
Collaborate with internal teams and support junior engineers
What We're Looking For

Experience in a Senior Design Engineer or Mechanical Design Engineer role
Strong background in valves, pressure vessels, structural design, tooling, or lifting equipment (or similar heavy engineering environments)
Proven experience delivering mechanical engineering projects
Good understanding of design codes, standards, and safety legislation
Ability to manage full design project lifecycles (requirements, concept, detailed design)
Strong knowledge of engineering materials
Experience with 3D CAD (Siemens NX or similar)
Experience using PLM systems (Teamcentre or similar)
Familiarity with engineering analysis tools (MathCAD, ANSYS, ABAQUS or similar)
Engineering degree (BEng or equivalent)
SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain it
Experience supporting or mentoring team members
