Working Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours (Monday – Friday) Salary: £26,549.63 (£13.62/hr)
Desirable: Driving license – mobility between schemes is essential
Overview of the Role:We’re looking for a compassionate and resilient Housing Support Worker to join our team in Leeds. You’ll manage a caseload of up to 20 clients who are at risk of homelessness, facing eviction, or in need of tenancy sustainment support. This is a dynamic, field-based role requiring independent decision-making and a strong commitment to person-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver housing-related support through home visits, resettlement assistance, and eviction prevention.
- Support clients with complex needs including mental health, dementia, substance use, domestic violence, and more.
- Use Trauma-Informed Care and psychologically informed practices to build resilience and promote independence.
- Help clients become “tenancy ready,” maintain accommodation, and integrate into the community.
- Complete structured support plans, risk assessments, and maintain accurate records using IT systems.
- Signpost to relevant services including healthcare, employment, education, and training.
- Collaborate with housing teams, external partners, and colleagues to provide holistic support.
- Work flexibly, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks under pressure.
Ideal Candidate Profile:- Experience in housing support or floating support roles, ideally with clients at risk of eviction or homelessness.
- Strong understanding of tenancy sustainment and housing systems in Leeds.
- Confident working independently and making decisions in the field.
- Skilled in supporting clients with vulnerabilities such as substance misuse, domestic abuse, and mental health issues.
- Excellent communication, listening, and problem-solving skills.
- Empathetic, professional, and committed to empowering service users.
- Strong IT and administrative skills for maintaining accurate case notes.
- Team player with a flexible, positive, can-do attitude.
