About the Role
As Internal Sales Team Leader, you will set the pace and direction for the internal sales team, leading, coaching, and motivating them to exceed targets and deliver a consistent, high‑quality customer experience. You'll champion proactive sales activity, ensure the team maximises every commercial opportunity, and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
You will monitor performance against KPIs, drive improvements in efficiency and accuracy, and ensure alignment with the South West commercial strategy. Your leadership will be central to enhancing customer experience, strengthening our market position, and delivering our "Right First Time" standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and support the Internal Sales Team to achieve targets and provide outstanding customer service
- Set and review individual sales goals and monitor performance to ensure productivity and growth
- Drive proactive sales activity and help grow the customer base across Aggs/Asphalt/Recycled products
- Maintain strong relationships with key accounts and align activity with regional commercial priorities
- Review customer call quality and uphold high communication standards across the team
- Ensure adherence to pricing policies and accurate processing of customer orders
- Manage and standardise the service and material complaints process
- Produce sales reports and forecasts to support regional management
- Maintain forward sales programmes, sales chasing, and won/lost reporting
- Handle customer enquiries efficiently while promoting Heidelberg Materials' branded products
- Collaborate with operational, commercial, and logistics teams to enhance customer experience
- Support forecasting, ensuring accurate visibility of forward demand and distribution needs
