We're currently seeking an experienced Principal Engineer with expertise in Temporary Works to join our Clients growing team of engineers and designers. Located in an accessible location in Central London, this multidisciplinary company has built a strong reputation both nationally and internationally through their prestigious projects.

The role:

This position will be joining the Temporary Works department in a Senior role and will report to the Lead Temporary Works Engineer. Being able to lead Temporary Works projects and provide support across a diverse range of structural engineering tasks is vital. This role involves direct interaction with clients and requires leading various projects, both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

Manage projects to clients requirements.
Undertake and supervise Temporary works designs covering all temporary works elements
Undertaking AIPs, engineering surveys and writing structural reports.
Work on/near Network Rail sites and undertaking NR forms/approval.
Review Structural Engineering analysis and design to both Eurocodes and British Standards
Assist fellow engineers and offer support and guidance.
Manage/mentor of junior staff.

Key Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in Temporary Works engineering, with 8 years overall engineering experience.
Chartered Status e.g. ICE or IstructE
Excellent knowledge of standard engineering practices, procedures, and structural principles
Experience in supervising work to ensure it adheres to technical standards, time lines, and budgets. A solid track record of involvement in a variety of Temporary Works projects, ideally in leadership roles with direct client interaction.
Working knowledge of structural analysis software such as SCIA, TEKLA, or similar, along with Idea StatiCa.
Approachable demeanour and possess effective communication skills.
You must have genuine concern for quality, with a drive to excel both individually and as part of a team.
The ability to multitask, prioritise, and maintain organisation in work.
Must be proactive and not hesitate to voice opinions or concerns.
