Team Leader – Children’s Residential Care Home

Shifts: Rotational (including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins)

The Role
As Team Leader, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the home. You will support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in leading a team of Residential Support Workers, ensuring the highest standards of care and safeguarding are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead shifts and ensure consistent, child-centred care
- Supervise, coach and support staff, including contributing to performance appraisals
- Support the development and implementation of care plans
- Manage incidents and safeguarding concerns in line with policy
- Promote positive routines, boundaries, and aspirations for young people
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and organisational policies
- Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of care practices.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with residents, their families, and external professionals.
What We’re Looking For:
- NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – essential
- At least 2 years’ experience in a residential childcare setting
- Previous experience supervising or mentoring staff – preferred
- Excellent communication, leadership and decision-making skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and child development
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in duties
