Team Leader – Children’s Residential Care Home

Location: Morecambe, United Kingdom

Full-time | Permanent

Shifts: Rotational (including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins)

About Us

The Role

As Team Leader, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the home. You will support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in leading a team of Residential Support Workers, ensuring the highest standards of care and safeguarding are maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead shifts and ensure consistent, child-centred care
  • Supervise, coach and support staff, including contributing to performance appraisals
  • Support the development and implementation of care plans
  • Manage incidents and safeguarding concerns in line with policy
  • Promote positive routines, boundaries, and aspirations for young people
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and organisational policies
  • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of care practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with residents, their families, and external professionals.

What We’re Looking For:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – essential
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a residential childcare setting
  • Previous experience supervising or mentoring staff – preferred
  • Excellent communication, leadership and decision-making skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and child development
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in duties
