This position will provide the Company with expertise in the areas of voice network design, voice network implementation, voice network operations, voice network management and network optimization. This position is accountable for ensuring our Voice network is highly available and supporting all voice/telephony products and services sold to our customers. Primary responsibility for this position is to plan, prepare, design, implement, operate and optimize the core voice network. The voice network system includes multiple call control platforms including Broadworks along with core session border controllers such as Sansay and Sonus SBC’s. This position is available in Austin, Mclean or New York City. Relocation is not available.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Defines functional requirements
Develops multi-vendor integration plans
Prepares technical design documentation
Develops engineering specifications and documents
Maintains and publishes a current call flowchart of the network
Prepares RFP specifications or other make/buy criteria
Responds to network, Voice network, and complex customer challenges.
Deploys highly reliable voice network components
Tests, certifies and documents equipment installation procedures
Integrates network management platforms
Reconfigures and upgrades network elements, systems and facilities
Tests, certifies and documents the network
Manage and maintain virtualized lab system
Prepares network documentation, technical papers and reports as required.
Designs tactical plans in accordance with customer specifications.
Provides technical assistance for all evaluation and selection of partner products
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field. Five years' experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience may be sufficient. Experience with Broadworks system architecture, design and has implemented scaling of telephony networks; Experience in design and setup of Sansay SBCs.
Deep understanding of SIP call flow and can analyze complicated call signaling using packet analyzers.
Experience with Carrier grade voice network administration
Experience with VMware virtualization
Well versed in Linux operating system and hands-on experience with Linux systems.
Deep knowledge of internet technologies, including addressing, protocols and routing technologies
Ability to understand and design VOIP based IP peering
Demonstrated ability to provide call detail analysis.
