Hales Group are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Technician to join our successful client based in Cambridgeshire.

You'll be part of a dedicated veterinary and lab support team, helping deliver high-quality services to customers in the poultry industry. The role involves supporting the veterinary team by carrying out essential lab duties such as sample processing, data entry, and ensuring accurate and timely results.

Laboratory Technician - Key Responsibilities:

* Conduct all testing and reporting in line with lab policies, procedures, and ISO 17025 standards to ensure accuracy and integrity.

* Support the day-to-day efficiency, hygiene, and safety of the lab environment.

* Receive, log, and process various sample types including hygiene swabs, water, microbiological and serology samples.

* Carry out testing procedures such as ELISA, plate agglutination, centrifuging, and sample preparation.

* Maintain accurate records, enter data into systems, and prepare detailed reports.

* Operate and maintain lab equipment; prepare reagents, culture media, and solutions.

* Coordinate external testing when required and assist in interpreting or summarising results.

* Uphold health and safety compliance and undergo additional training as directed.

* Participate in site visits and external meetings as necessary.

Person Specification - Key Requirements:

* Degree-level qualification (or equivalent) with laboratory experience

* Strong problem-solving, analytical, and numeracy abilities

* Excellent attention to detail and clear communication skills

* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

* Team-oriented with a proactive attitude toward collaboration and team improvement

* Organised and punctual, with the ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload

* Energetic and enthusiastic, with the ability to motivate and positively influence others
