Role Overview

Riverside is seeking an exceptional Service Manager to oversee operations across two supported housing schemes in Derby: Newstead House and Centenary House, serving a total of 40 service users. You’ll lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team of 15 staff—including support workers, assistants, cooks, and more.

This is a temporary leadership opportunity suited for seasoned managers or ambitious senior team members ready to take their next career step in a high-impact, fast-paced environment

Core Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations across two busy schemes
  • Manage and support a diverse, multidisciplinary staff team
  • Ensure quality, safety, and effectiveness of service delivery
  • Uphold safeguarding, crisis intervention, and risk management protocols
  • Foster a person-centred, trauma-informed care culture
  • Monitor and report KPIs, staff performance, and resident outcomes
  • Liaise with professionals, external agencies, and internal departments
  • Contribute to budget management and ensure operational efficiency
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Extensive background in supported housing and crisis environments
  • Strong experience with vulnerable groups, including:
  • Women at risk
  • Individuals with substance misuse and mental health issues
  • High-complexity service users
  • Skilled in leadership, supervision, and conflict resolution
  • Proven ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coaching capabilities
  • Proficient in case management systems, reporting, and data analysis
  • Deep understanding of safeguarding, duty of care, and compliance
