Role OverviewRiverside is seeking an exceptional Service Manager to oversee operations across two supported housing schemes in Derby: Newstead House and Centenary House, serving a total of 40 service users. You’ll lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team of 15 staff—including support workers, assistants, cooks, and more.
This is a temporary leadership opportunity suited for seasoned managers or ambitious senior team members ready to take their next career step in a high-impact, fast-paced environment
Core Responsibilities- Oversee daily operations across two busy schemes
- Manage and support a diverse, multidisciplinary staff team
- Ensure quality, safety, and effectiveness of service delivery
- Uphold safeguarding, crisis intervention, and risk management protocols
- Foster a person-centred, trauma-informed care culture
- Monitor and report KPIs, staff performance, and resident outcomes
- Liaise with professionals, external agencies, and internal departments
- Contribute to budget management and ensure operational efficiency
Essential Skills & Experience- Extensive background in supported housing and crisis environments
- Strong experience with vulnerable groups, including:
- Women at risk
- Individuals with substance misuse and mental health issues
- High-complexity service users
- Skilled in leadership, supervision, and conflict resolution
- Proven ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coaching capabilities
- Proficient in case management systems, reporting, and data analysis
- Deep understanding of safeguarding, duty of care, and compliance
