This is a crucial role within the organisation, focused on driving assembly process quality, product integrity, and continuous improvement across production operations. This position is suited to a quality professional with strong IATF 16949 experience who thrives in a fast-paced automotive environment and is passionate about improving process capability and product performance rather than purely quality assurance compliance.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support assembly process quality activities across manufacturing operations
  • Drive product-focused quality improvements, ensuring customer and regulatory requirements are consistently met
  • Act as the subject matter expert for IATF 16949 standards, supporting audits and maintaining compliance
  • Manage and resolve internal and external non-conformances using structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Root Cause Analysis)
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to improve process capability and reduce defects
  • Support APQP activities, PPAP submissions, and control plan development
  • Analyse quality data, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives across assembly processes
  • Liaise directly with automotive customers regarding quality performance and corrective actions
Key Requirements
  • Proven experience in a Senior Quality Engineer role within automotive manufacturing
  • Strong working knowledge of IATF 16949 and automotive core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA)
  • Demonstrated experience within assembly/manufacturing process quality rather than purely QA-focused roles
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to drive root cause investigations to completion
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Data-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
