Merrifield Consultants are working with a young people's charity to find a Trusts and Foundations Executive to join a positive and collaborative fundraising team at an exciting time of growth. The Trust and Foundations Executive is responsible for supporting the fundraising strategy, working with the Strategic Funding Manager to identify suitable projects, explore suitable funders, and write funding applications to ultimately maximise grants from Trusts and Foundations.

Location: London, (Hybrid, typically 1- 2 days per week in the office)
Benefits: 25 days holiday a year, plus bank holidays rising to 28 days after two years, Three extra days over Christmas, Learning and Development

Main Responsibilities:

Submit tailored and compelling applications and reports which support the delivery of their leading programme.
Raise 5 figure grants from charitable trusts, foundations and statutory sources - Where opportunities are identified, prepare high quality, compelling and tailored content for applications.
Proactively identify, research and prioritise new trusts that are strong funding prospects for the charity.
Accurately maintain prospect / donor correspondence, donations and engagements on a database.
Manage a quarterly mailing cycle to smaller trusts, growing income from this group while streamlining processes to ensure it remains low maintenance.
Ensure all externally funded projects are properly evaluated by relevant colleagues, and converted into resources that can be used by our membership to increase the impact and legacy of external funding.
Skills and Knowledge:

Experience of Trust fundraising
Experience of drafting powerful and compelling arguments, proposals and reports, ideally (but not limited to) trust and foundation applications.
The ability to work through the fundraising cycle with donors to initiate, renew and grow gifts
Proven ability to build strong relationships with, and influence, internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Excellent writing, presentational and intra-personal skills.
Good finance skills for accurate budgeting - Ability to manage and prioritise a diverse workload to meet tight deadlines.
