The Role:

The purpose of the role is to assist in the development, implementation, and sustainability of capable methods of manufacturing, including process improvements, problem solving, re-engineering, and delivering capital investments.

Main Responsibilities:

* Contribute and support the development and implementation of the best practice manufacturing vision, strategies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performances.

* Identify business improvement opportunities in line with best practice within the industry.

* Develop the manufacturing capability and technology to ensure delivery of products that meet the product specifications and customer expectations.

* Active involvement on the Maintenance Excellence Program of plant and equipment to improve asset performance.

* Assist in the Failure Mode Effect Analysis program and ensure accurate upkeep and deployment at all times.

* Drive process improvements on Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by appropriate data analysis and through problem-solving techniques with root cause established.

* Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with all HSE policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all staff and visitors

* Ensure contractors on site meet and adhere to legal and company requirements

* Maintain a clean and tidy workplace in relation to set standards.

* Work as part of the Operational Excellence Team to share ideas, improve operations, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities, process and procedure improvements to optimise and improve machine efficiency and reduce breakdowns, in line with Company and customer requirements.

* Collaborate with all departments, to align continuous improvement initiatives and continue development of performance

* Develop and maintain strong and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.

* Recommend solutions without compromising on quality or service whilst optimising cost

* Stay current and up to date on technical knowledge to enable effect solutions.

* Contribute to new business initiatives and projects

* Participate in the delivery of capital investment projects

* Investigate and develop the potential use of AI within the business to support continual operational improvements

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

* Possesses a solid secondary education, including Maths and English

* HND or equivalent, with experience of working in a Manufacturing Engineer role or Foundation degree with some practical experience

* Previous experience working in a maintenance and/or engineering role

* Knowledge of relevant Engineering & Manufacturing standards and HSE regulations

* Strong data analytical skills

* Experienced in the use of problem-solving tools and techniques
