A genuinely superb & quite unique opportunity to join a market leading business to help setting up and shaping a manufacturing department / plant.

The Job:

* Reporting into the Plant Manager, oversee the day to day activities relating to water management, effluent discharge, boiler chemistry, chemical usage, product development, process rejects and chemical system maintenance.

* Working closely with the plant leadership team, ensure good cost control of additives and deliver site compliance requirements throughout the department

* Manage 2 process technicians

* Accountable for monitoring, reporting, analysing and taking action on chemical efficiencies

* Conduct feasibility studies into, and make suggestions for, product development within the Technical, Quality and Environmental operational framework

* Monitor and maintain boiler chemistry at the required standards

* Monitor all chemical & water usage and to create an annual action plan that ensures full review of the consumption and discharge across the plant

The Person:

* Degree or HNC or equivalent in Chemistry, Process, Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or similar

* Experience and understanding of water treatment and boilers within a manufacturing or process plant

* Willing to do occasional short trips to other European plants (2 - 3 days at a time) for knowledge transfer and training - once or twice per year.

* Good communication, multiple stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills important.
