Design and Technology Teacher - Merseyside

Our client in Wigan are looking for a design and technology teacher to start in September. This position will be a maternity cover role. The school was rated 'Good' in all areas with Ofsted and has a fantastic reputation.

Pay: £130 - £210 per day (depending on experience)
Location: Wigan
Start Date: September 2025 (or earlier for the right candidate)
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term (potential for permanent)

We're looking for a qualified DT Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Wigan. The right candidate will have a solid understanding of the Design and Technology curriculum and a passion for helping students bring ideas to life through hands-on learning and creative thinking.

Role Responsibilities:
* Deliver engaging DT lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 if applicable)
* Plan projects that encourage innovation, problem-solving, and practical skills
* Teach a range of specialisms (e.g., Resistant Materials, Product Design, Textiles, Graphics - depending on school needs)
* Monitor progress, assess learning, and provide constructive feedback
* Support students to develop technical knowledge, creativity, and resilience
* Collaborate with colleagues to share resources, ideas, and best practices
* Contribute to wider school activities, enrichment opportunities, and departmental development
