Who are we looking for?

Cambridge Education Group is seeking a new Student Support Officer (Wellbeing) to join the expanding team with our Partnership.

A component of the role involves lead on student welfare, acting as the first point of contact for students in need of guidance, support, or a listening ear. You’ll play a vital part in ensuring their wellbeing is put first by, offering timely advice, and signposting to appropriate services.

You’ll work closely with internal teams, university partners, and external support organisations to support more complex welfare concerns with care and professionalism, making a real difference in students’ lives when it matters most.

You’ll also be supporting key aspects of the student journey, from pre-arrival support and enrolment, through to induction, attendance monitoring, visa compliance, and student engagement. You will be instrumental in ensuring students receive a seamless and supportive experience from the moment they accept their offer to graduation

Key experience required:

  • Experience in working on student enrolment
  • Experience in working in Attendance and Visa Compliance
  • Experience of working in a customer-focussed environment
  • Experience of providing customer support

  • Experience of working with international students

Experience of working in an education setting (desirable)

Main responsibilities:

  • To lead in the coordination of the dual enrolment of students in line with the University and CEG processes and ensuring student enrolment and withdrawal data is accurately recorded and maintained.
  • To lead on the allocation of group/classes for newly enrolled students and to support on the communication of this to student and teaching staff.
  • To lead the attendance process to address and monitor attendance concerns with students in line with external regulatory and the University processes and action warnings, disciplinaries and withdrawals. This includes first stage attendance administration, leading on second stage attendance escalations and subsequent development of personalised student action plans, and supporting on the administration of third stage meting and any subsequent withdrawal notice(s).
  • To support and administer visa-related documentation and procedures in line with the University process and to adhere to all relevant policies, procedures and external regulators.
  • To lead with student service induction activities, ensuring students are inducted and aware of services available as well as expectations upon the students - Attendance policy, conditions of visa and fee payments.
  • To ensure students are able to actively engage in the University of Hull experience through the social and cultural activities to enhance student experience, ensuring opportunities are communicated to students on an ongoing basis.
  • To support welfare concerns and referral point to provide students with welfare, guidance, and information. Liaising with colleagues, partners and external organisations/individuals as required, in relation to more complex cases.
  • Ensure case notes relating to student welfare issues are updated as necessary in line with the University processes
