Multi-Skilled Shift Maintenance Engineer - High-Speed FMCG Food & Drinks Manufacturing Sector

Location: West Midlands

Salary: £42,000 - £48,000 + Shift Allowance + Benefits

The Opportunity

A leading, well-invested beverage manufacturing and packaging facility is seeking talented multi-skilled engineers to join their growing maintenance team. With significant investment in both bottling and canning capability, and further expansion planned, this is an excellent opportunity for ambitious engineers to build a rewarding career in a modern FMCG environment.

The Role

Working on a shift basis, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of high-speed production lines through a blend of planned preventive maintenance and rapid response to breakdowns. You will gain experience across both bottling and canning equipment, work closely with production colleagues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on high-speed bottling and canning lines.
Rapidly diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and automation faults.
Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve issues and improve performance.
Contribute ideas and practical input to continuous improvement projects.
Maintain compliance with health, safety, and food/beverage industry standards.
2 Shift System - Monday to Friday only

About You

Engineering apprenticeship (multi-skilled, mechanical 40%, or electrical 60%).
18th edition qualification desirable or willing to study
Some experience in manufacturing maintenance - FMCG or comparable high-speed production desirable.
Knowledge of 3-phase motors, inverters, PLC fault finding, belts, bearings, pumps, pneumatics, hydraulics.
Self-starter with strong troubleshooting skills and willingness to learn.
