Distinct is working with a Derbyshire-based business to recruit a Senior Management Accountant for a 12-month contract. Hybrid is offered - 3 days on-site.

This role supports the Finance Manager in delivering high-quality financial reporting and analysis to business units across the group. You'll lead a team of Assistant Management Accountants and play a key role in continuous process improvement and financial governance.

• Prepare timely and accurate monthly and ad hoc financial and performance reports
• Oversee the preparation of management accounts, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
• Manage monthly balance sheet reconciliations and quarterly VAT submissions
• Provide day-to-day leadership
• Drive continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls
• Liaise with divisional finance teams and group functions to support reporting and audit activities
• Support year-end audit processes and contribute to key financial projects across the business.

• Fully qualified (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) with at least 3 years’ experience in management or financial accounting
• Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines in a high-volume environment
• Demonstrated success in team leadership and performance management
• Proven track record in process optimisation and systems improvement
• Experience working within a large finance function is highly desirable
