We're seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant based in Smethwick, Sandwell, who's ready to bring energy, empathy, and dedication to a role where every day offers the chance to make a lasting impact.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with students who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, helping them overcome barriers and celebrate achievements-big and small.

No two days are the same. One moment you might be supporting learning in the classroom, the next you're helping a student master a life skill they'll carry forever.

What you will be doing:

  • Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups to help them engage and succeed
  • Using creative, hands-on approaches to keep learning accessible and fun
  • Helping pupils regulate emotions and navigate the school day with confidence
  • Building strong, trusting relationships that make pupils feel safe and understood
  • Working closely with teachers and SEN staff to deliver consistent, high-quality support
  • Sensory work supporting with dis-regulations and de-escalation.

What We're Looking For:

  • A level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or the equivalent is advantageous
  • Energetic, resilient, and ready to think on your feet
  • Patient and understanding, even when things get challenging
  • A natural encourager who celebrates every small win
  • Experience working with children in a school or similar setting
  • Previous experience working with special needs children
  • Based locally to Smethwick, Sandwell

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
