The OpportunityA growing accountancy practice is looking to appoint a proactive and organised Accountant with prior UK practice experience. This position offers the chance to manage your own client portfolio, take ownership of deliverables, and play a key role in maintaining excellent client relationships. This is ideal for someone who enjoys a varied workload across accounts and tax, and is keen to develop their client-facing and advisory skills.What You’ll Be Doing

• Taking responsibility for a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients
• Producing statutory accounts and ensuring compliance work is completed accurately and on time
• Supporting clients with both accounting and tax-related matters
• Acting as a primary contact, building strong and professional relationships
• Running client meetings and communicating financial information in a clear, accessible way
• Handling queries efficiently and maintaining a high level of service
• Assisting with onboarding new clients and ensuring a smooth transition process
• Keeping client records up to date and well maintained
• Using TaxCalc and cloud-based systems confidently in day-to-day work

What We’re Looking For

• ACA or ACCA studier
• Experience working within a UK accountancy practice environment
• Demonstrable experience managing or supporting a client portfolio
• Solid understanding of accounts preparation and compliance requirements
• Strong communication skills with a client-focused approach
• Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
• Comfortable working under deadlines while maintaining accuracy
• Experience with cloud accounting software and practice tools
