Year 1 General Teaching Assistant - Edgware

We are currently seeking a Year 1 General Teaching Assistant to join an Outstanding two-form entry primary school in Edgware after the Easter break. This is a full-time, term-time only position working Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive and well-established KS1 team in a school known for its strong leadership, inclusive environment and high standards of teaching and learning.

Pay: £105 - £115 per day (dependent on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons within the Year 1 classroom

Providing general classroom support to ensure all pupils remain engaged and on task

*

Working with small groups and individual pupils to support learning in phonics, literacy and numeracy

*

Assisting with classroom organisation, preparation of learning resources and displays

*

Supporting pupils with varying learning needs to access the curriculum

*

Promoting positive behaviour and helping to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment

*

Supporting pupils during transitions, break times and classroom activities where required

Requirements:

*

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

*

Previous experience working in a primary school setting, ideally within Key Stage 1

*

A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential

*

Strong communication skills and a proactive, supportive approach

*

A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
