Liberty Speciality Steels currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Electrical Section Engineer to join our Bright Bar site in Rotherham.

The Electrical Section Engineer will lead, motivate, monitor and oversee electrical activities, whilst taking responsibility for the safe, effective, and efficient maintenance of all plant and equipment on the site. The postholder will also provide technical support and guidance on the various electrical systems, drives, and PLCs, supporting manufacturing operations and the shift engineering team as necessary.

The Electrical Section Engineer will be responsible for implementing and driving a continual improvement plan in efficiency of equipment and maintenance activities on site, providing technical support. This involves identifying and recommending innovative solutions to engineering problems, and providing solutions to problems arising from equipment failures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Electrical Section Engineer will undertake the following duties and responsibilities;

* Formulating maintenance engineering activities in conjunction with the manufacturing team to deliver requirements of HS&E

* Ensuring work is carried out in a safe manner and comply with all the relevant health and safety legislation.

* Directing isolation / immobilisation of equipment and issue of necessary permits.

* Leading Risk Assessments.

* Directing and managing the assigned teams

* Setting up and upholding agreed standards for all activities & equipment within the assigned area

* Maintaining records on electrical jobs and assign to appropriate personnel.

* Carrying out proactive and reactive duties.

* Contributing to the overall performance of the department.

* Providing maintenance strategy and technical expertise for site both during and outside normal hours as demanded by Safety and Manufacturing requirements.

* Ensuring equipment is maintained in a safe reliable condition by the use of appropriate methods.

* Organising and directing outage activity for the assigned area.

* Formulating and agreeing spares stock holding.

* Formulating and agreeing KPI for the assigned equipment.

* Directing and delivering equipment and maintenance method improvements.

* Delivering and driving efficient maintenance in a safe manner at the optimum cost.

* Leading and developing electrical personnel behaviours and competency.

* Driving and delivering productivity improvements with direct reports.

* Monitoring equipment performance in line in line with defined QA requirements.

* Populating and retaining information within the plant integrity database.

* Delivering maintenance performance to ensure product quality and asset integrity are maintained.

REQUIRED SKILLS

The Electrical Section Engineer must hold the following skills and experience;

* The jobholder will be educated to a minimum of ONC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline or be an experienced time served craftsperson with relevant qualifications, with a proven track record including supervision and management of engineering teams and equipment.

* They are required to be technically proficient engineers with PC skills and proven leadership capability. The ability to understand and deliver technically proficient engineering, working in conjunction with the manufacturing team, directing and supervising Liberty Steel personnel and relevant Contractors to deliver safe, efficient, and timely work execution is essential.

* The jobholder must be highly motivated, a good communicator with high level of team skills and be capable of delivering the full range of the company business needs and requirements framework tool set.

* Experience of bright drawing would be advantageous, but is not essential as training will be given.
