Ribble Recruitment are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join a supportive team working with children and young people in a residential setting.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a positive difference in young people’s lives, supporting them to develop independence, confidence and emotional wellbeing.
About the Role
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will support the management team in the day-to-day running of the home while ensuring children receive high-quality care in a safe and nurturing environment. You will also lead shifts, guide staff members and promote positive outcomes for the young people in your care.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading shifts and supporting staff members during day-to-day operations
- Promoting safeguarding and ensuring children are protected from harm
- Providing nurturing care that supports emotional wellbeing and development
- Acting as a Key Worker for allocated young people
- Supporting care planning and attending professional meetings
- Encouraging positive behaviour and using de-escalation techniques
- Maintaining accurate records and reports
- Supporting children with education, health and daily living skills
- Working in partnership with professionals including social workers and education providers
- Promoting equality, diversity and inclusion within the home
- Ensuring health and safety standards are maintained
Requirements
Essential
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
- Experience working with children and young people
- Strong understanding of safeguarding practices
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable
- Previous experience in a senior residential role
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care
- Understanding of Ofsted regulations and standards
