Ribble Recruitment are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join a supportive team working with children and young people in a residential setting.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a positive difference in young people’s lives, supporting them to develop independence, confidence and emotional wellbeing.

About the Role

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will support the management team in the day-to-day running of the home while ensuring children receive high-quality care in a safe and nurturing environment. You will also lead shifts, guide staff members and promote positive outcomes for the young people in your care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading shifts and supporting staff members during day-to-day operations
  • Promoting safeguarding and ensuring children are protected from harm
  • Providing nurturing care that supports emotional wellbeing and development
  • Acting as a Key Worker for allocated young people
  • Supporting care planning and attending professional meetings
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and using de-escalation techniques
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports
  • Supporting children with education, health and daily living skills
  • Working in partnership with professionals including social workers and education providers
  • Promoting equality, diversity and inclusion within the home
  • Ensuring health and safety standards are maintained

Requirements

Essential

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
  • Experience working with children and young people
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding practices
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a senior residential role
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care
  • Understanding of Ofsted regulations and standards
