A leading UK-based manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Lead to oversee strategic and day-to-day operations across purchasing, planning, and goods movement.

The Role

This is a key leadership position responsible for delivering the strategic supply chain plan and optimising performance across all operational areas. You'll lead cross-functional collaboration, drive efficiency, and ensure seamless supply-demand balance across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Optimisation

*

Develop and implement supply chain strategies that align with business goals and lead end-to-end planning, balancing demand and production

*

Oversee inventory planning and delivery and drive continuous improvement to enhance performance and reduce lead times

Sales Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP)

*

Lead the SIOP process to align demand, production, inventory, and procurement and collaborate with sales, finance, and operations teams

*

Use market trends and data to guide strategic decisions

Production Planning & Master Scheduling

*

Build and maintain a robust master production schedule and coordinate capacity scenarios with operations

*

Work closely with manufacturing to ensure smooth production flow and adjust schedules proactively based on fluctuations in supply or demand

Inventory & Stores Management

*

Oversee stock level policies to meet production needs without overstocking

*

Improve warehouse and handling processes for accuracy and efficiency

*

Increase inventory accuracy through audits and process improvements

Supplier & Stakeholder Collaboration

*

Manage supplier relationships and mitigate risks

*

Work with procurement to improve supplier performance and reduce costs

About You

*

Experience in end-to-end supply chain leadership in a manufacturing/production setting

*

Degree or equivalent in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field

*

Certifications such as APICS, CPIM, CSCP, or Six Sigma are an advantage

*

Strong experience with SIOP, production planning, and inventory management

*

Effective cross-functional collaboration skills

*

Strong data analysis and decision-making abilities

*

Proven leadership and change management skills

*

Commercial awareness and a focus on operational efficiency
