Job Description
GEM are working with a global organisation to recruit a number of fitters to carry out project-related tasks based on a client’s site located in the North East. We are keen to hear from candidates with experience within this sector, full training is provided.
Duties
- Dismantling and assembling machinery.
- Loading, unloading, and relocating machines and materials.
- Demolishing and scrapping machines and buildings.
- Packing machines and materials for transport.
- Reporting damages and malfunctions to the Project Manager.
- Accounting for work carried out and completing the required documents/work orders, etc.
- Ensuring the responsible and careful use, maintenance, and management of all equipment.
- Maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and others by following safety regulations and using personal protective equipment.
- Maintaining an efficient and tidy working environment.
- Performing physical tasks in various positions
- Exerting force or lifting up to 23 kg, occasionally more.
Required/desired knowledge, skills or experience
- Relevant education obtained at a college
- Mechanical/Hand tool experience
- FLT – Counterbalance or Reach
- Telehandler
- IPAF
- Driving license
- CSCS card
- Rigging/Slinging

- Days – £13.50P/H to £15P/H
