A hands-on, commercially focused Corporate Tax Manager is sought to join a dynamic UK-based organisation operating within a large international group. This standalone role offers autonomy with senior-level support and is ideal for someone who thrives on ownership and responsibility across all areas of corporate taxation.

You’ll be responsible for managing both compliance and advisory aspects of corporate tax, contributing to strategic transactions, and ensuring governance across the business. The role supports the wider group tax function and provides broad exposure to all heads of tax.

It is well-suited to professionals with strong in-house experience or a background in Big 4 or top-tier firms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full corporate tax lifecycle, including preparation and submission of tax returns, group reliefs, QIPs, and loan relationship reviews.
  • Lead transfer pricing compliance and documentation, ensuring alignment with BEPS and UK requirements.
  • Handle HMRC investigations and enquiries, and manage responses in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Support corporate tax audits, oversee the SAO programme, and manage R&D tax credit claims and documentation.
  • Provide tax input on corporate restructuring, refinancing, M&A transactions, and business reorganisations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on transactional projects such as Tax Due Diligence and structuring.
  • Offer strategic tax advice related to legal structure optimisation, risk mitigation, and governance.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external advisors to resolve technical tax issues and align tax planning with business goals.
  • Engage with senior leadership to provide insight into tax implications of business decisions.
  • Mentor and support junior team members as the tax function evolves.
  • Foster collaboration with audit, legal, and finance teams to ensure accurate and compliant tax reporting.

What We're Looking For:Essential

  • ACA / CA / ACCA / CTA (or equivalent) qualified
  • 4-8+ years of UK Corporate Tax experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK Corporate Tax legislation and transfer pricing
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues clearly
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
