Site Engineer

We are recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to work alongside the Senior Management team delivering a major construction project based in Sunderland.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurate setting out of civil engineering works on site (earthworks, drainage, foundations, steel frame installations, external works, etc.).
Interpret and work from construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
Assist the Site Manager and Project Manager with daily site coordination and supervision.
Carry out site surveys and as-built surveys using appropriate surveying equipment (Trimble).
Ensure works are carried out to the correct dimensions, levels, and tolerances.
Assist in compiling QA/QC documentation, including check sheets and inspection records.
Liaise with subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the design team.
Maintain and calibrate equipment, ensuring all instruments are in good working condition.
Identify any design issues or clashes early and raise them proactively with the site team.
Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture. Skills and Experience:

Minimum HND/HNC or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, or related field.
Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer on similar large-scale civil engineering or industrial projects.
Proficient in using surveying equipment (total stations, GPS, levels).
Strong technical knowledge of setting out procedures and construction methods.
Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently.
CSCS card (essential).
SMSTS/SSSTS (preferred but not essential).
First Aid at Work (preferred).
